Contractors

We have your back and will work hard to gain and maintain
your trust in us as your “Go-To” Public Adjusters.

Can a Public Adjuster work for a contractor? Absolutely, YES!

Here's why... In most states, it’s illegal for a contractor to take on the role of Public Adjuster, including negotiating the claim and/or discussing policy with the insurance carrier. It is also against the law for a Public Adjuster to act as a contractor on a claim. When a Public Adjuster takes on the role of contractor, it is considered a conflict of interest and the Unauthorized Practice of Public Adjusting, which can, and often does, result in legal action being taken, including arrest, prosecution, and jail time.

Whether you're a roofer, plumber, mold remediator, water mitigation company, or a fire & smoke restoration company...

You have a friend in the business of Insurance claim work. Public Adjusters can legally negotiate the claims for the policyholders that are your customers.  As a matter of fact, it is a great benefit to both the policyholder and contractor to partner with Velocity Public Insurance Adjusters on every insurance job you work on or are bidding for.

We can increase the contractor's profit margin for the job

We do this by always understanding the policyholder’s specific insurance policy, the state statutes, and case law pertaining to claims handling, as well as properly managing the claim process, which is extremely time-consuming and arduous at best.
When Velocity Public Insurance Adjusters represents a policyholder, we most often increase the claim dramatically, allowing you to perform the proper construction methods for the policyholders and making a better profit margin for your company.

Ready to get started?

With our knowledge of the policy and claims handling we are able to fully negotiate the best settlement possible allowing the policyholder to receive what they are owed.

There are several reasons that contractors don’t look to engage a Public Adjuster on insurance claims they are on:

A lack of communication between the Public Adjuster and the Contractor after the Public Adjuster has been brought on the claim.

As your Public Adjuster, Velocity Public Insurance Adjusters promises to communicate and will be transparent with you every step of the way. This means that you will be copied on all communications between the insured, the carrier, and us and will have access to the claim file. You will always know where we are in settling the claim. This lets the contractor focus on what makes them money; Sell - Build - Collect

A lack of understanding of the value of a Public Adjuster.

The contractor not understanding the value of the Public Adjuster’s roll in the claim and being unsure if he’ll get paid what it will cost to do the job without cutting their quote. We will assist in putting a “form of payment designation” in place to help assure that you will be paid.

As a Public Adjuster working directly with contractors, we will always make the contractor more money for the job.

We guarantee this by actions, not words. Part of our contract with the insureds states:

"if we are unable to settle the claim at least 20% higher than the carrier’s original offer, we will either finish the claim for no fee or terminate our contract."

We partner with industry experts

We want to provide the best service and outcomes for our contractors and insureds, this is why we partner with industry experts such as Forensic Engineers, Industrial Hygienists, and Building Consultants when the loss requires.

We know the laws

Restoration contractors are an essential part of the recovery process, but most states have laws making it illegal for contractors to file and adjust claims or interpret policy. It would be considered the Unauthorized Practice of Public Adjusting, which is against the law and can result in arrest and felony charges, depending on the state in which the infraction occurs. We keep you on the right side which saves and makes you more money.

Just as it’s against the law for a contractor to take on the role of public adjuster, it is alsoagainst the law for a public adjuster to act as a contractor on a claim. If apublic adjuster were to take on the role of contractor, it would be considereda conflict of interest and the Unauthorized Practice of Public Adjusting, whichcould result in legal action being taken against them.

We take the work load off the contractor

By taking responsibility for the detailed loss investigation and documentation, meeting with adjusters, engineers, etc., and writing scopes and loss valuations all while doing the policy research and interpretation, we save you time and get you more money for the job.
